Looking at all the books that are available in Library Thing is amazing. I was able to look at the new books of the authors that I like. while this is good for my personal reading I have to also remember that the books that I can use for my students. I will be able to work on a reading list for them and be able to see what is in our school library. With the Library Thing the students will be able to look up their favorite author, the title of the book if they know it and be able to see if they are in the school library.

I went to Wikipedia and typed in ADHD to see what they had in the information on it. I looked at the history to see when the last posting was done and that was done over the weekend. There was no discussion posted.

The Wiki sites that I looked at were different in format. With each format they were right for that Wiki. I had to see Salute to Seuss , being a great Dr. Seuss fan I had to see what they did. With the information on the left side of the site you are able to click on the part you want and get the information you want.

On the Wiki Primary Math, on this site you will be able to find different things. You are able to see different class see how they set up there Wiki so you call download your own picture for the math pages that they have set up.

Schools in the Past as I was reading this site I found that the things in the past school were things that I had in my school when I was there. They broke the information down into different parts the school, example school yard, class size, etc. Reading the information that the brought together just listed. There was an additional posting done by another teacher, she made it for any grade to use.

That was neat. I was looking for something about ADHD, my son has this, I wanted to know if there was anything that I could do for him with school. I found several sites for this. There is even ads for things that can be used to help ADHD people. I know that my son will need help from myself, his dad, and the his teacher. With Delicious I was able to see what others have found and was easy for me to see what other thing.

Going to Google Reader today I find that I wanted to add other interest to mine. I have gotten in to reading the news online and added top stories to it. I don't like to have to get a paper anymore and want to read the just the top stories around the world. I have found out just by reading these I have the information that I want and still be informed. Between Palin, Obama, the South Carolina town, it seems that Michael Jackson got the most press.

I used ToonDoo - http://www.toondoo.com to do the comic strip. I have used the pictures of my daughters wedding for the strip. It did feel like a long way down to the seats. while doing this I found that I could use this for my students to help them with their English assignments, even their math. Just think of the things we can do with this information to help all of student express their imagination.

Just think if we were able to do trading cards for all our students and let them trade them with their peers. I know that this is for the computer but just think about we would have to design one for us as well. What would we put on outs and what pictures. Trading Card Maker - is a great way to show a picture that we like and do other things. While making my trading card I did not put my picture on it I put my son's it not the best one, but one that I like a lot. I love his expression.

Wow that was fun. I had fun just working on the slide. I think I got it. My sister and her husband have been doing facebook lately and I got involved with over the weekend when I was with them. I had been invited a couple of time and I accepted the invitation but did not know where to go then. I have learned something that could be use there as well as with my students. Now I can do this on my facebook page.

Looking on Flickr Creative Commons I have found several different way to do this with my students. This will help them looking on the web to find out where things are and work on a science project that could be later printed for their parents to see. By doing this they will find that they can work on a computer and do thing beside play games on. With this information that I am learn now will help them work on different projects and let them work on their own and explore the internet. I have chosen the rose that has not yet flower out because the mind is closed to several things until there is water or knowledge given to open up.

When taking a computer class this summer I had to download a video on the assignment from YouTube. I did not know about creative commons, I was just doing what the instructors were telling us to do. Now that I have found out about this I understand other things as well. I have done several power point presentation for my college classes and did not what I was doing but pasting the pictures or information on there. I have not looked to see if there was a CC on the websites that I was using but that is something that I look for now.

When working on this assignment I find that I am going to different places that I have never been before (is that not part of an old television show login). As I get into the course I find myself getting out of my comfort zone with this, but is that what we are suppose to do. Getting into the new places that I have visited I find new information that has been very informative to me. I know that it is July the 4th and I will be going later to the fireworks display. I am trying to work through as much today as I can as I water the yard, feed the birds, and take care of my son. I know that the birds will not bother me to much as soon as I get the feed out. The yard will almost get watered as long as I get the hose changed ever now and then and my son will that is another thing….

Making comment to the blogs that I have read have been has been my thoughts on what was being written on the person's blog. The commenting part of it has been easy, it is what I felt when I have read that blog. The experience of those comments have been easy for me it is just what I think and my feelings.

While reading on my RSS I found out that I did not know anything about Twitter. I still don't know much about but I do understand it alittle more about it. I don't know if is something that I would do but I did not think that I would do Facebook either, and I am.

Working on this part of the assignment has been had for me as I work with special students. I know that I have enjoyed working with them and that that is a difficult for me to find the right blogs for you to see. I know that each student is different and that each challenge for them is sometime simple for us. We have to look for different ways to show them how to do things. We have to think outside the box to help each student with their learning. In the blog Have Fun Learning With School Gadgets we have to see that each gadget that we have on our campus to use and let the students work with these gadgets.

Looking in to raising my son, I find that I have a time with him saying yes and no. He says yea and huhh. I know that I have taught him different and that he does listen to me, even though he is ten. I found the blog Teaching Child Manners: First Step To Education eye opening. I know that I do try to this with my students and that the will do it until we go to something different. With each student even out own children we have to always go back to the first thing we do as saying yes or no.

As I was reading on this part of the assignment I ran across Friday 5: Twitter 101from Infinite Thinking Machine by infinitethinking@gmail.com (Infinite Thinking Machine).I have heard about twitting but did not know anything about it. I guess I am just an old foggy when it come to the computers. I have email the article to myself to print it and read it in more detail later, yes I have to have it in hand to read. I have learned a lot with just doing these five things. It will be fun to see what I can do with this in my classroom.

While reading some of the blogs I found that you are just reading what are on peoples mind. The writing is about what is important to them.
While in my classes for college I had to do alot of PowerPoint Presentations. After reading this I find that PowerPoint Reform: a first chapter is very informative about what not to do and to do on the next one that I do. I have found out that the clip art and the bullets are not that good. Yes, I know that if the instructor wants that then that is what is needed.

The other blogs that I have read I notice that the writer is stating things that we do every day. We see them and we don't think about them as we do them as well. Spies Like Us, we see the cell phones, the bluetooth in the ears, and we like them. We do not know what is being recorded, or not.

As you can see I stated this this spring and did not finish it. I do not plan to do that again. I want to finish this and know that I can do this. I know that I will have to work at this each day and complete this as I have a son that will be looking at me to do this. I have plans for the end of this month that I need to do and I want to be able to say that I can do this and show others that I have completed this.

I don’t have just one habit that I feel that will be the most challenging for me to employ in this course. The ones that I think will challenge me are to have confidence in myself to do the hardest part and go on, to know what my I can use in my learning box, and to play. With the confidence in myself I have set out to do this class with an open mind and to see where it will lead me. With the learning box, I have to think outside the box. And to play that sounds simple, but not to some one that always work, either here at work or at home. I find that I have to be doing something.

When the teacher has composed the blog not only does other teachers be able to see what that teacher is doing for that class, but the parent is able to see as well. The parent would be able to help their student more by seeing what the teacher want and better understand what the assignment would be if there was an assignment. The parent would know what is going on their student’s class. The students today has the knowledge that I did not have at when I was in high school. With this we would be able to branch out and have them think outside the box. As a parent of a MISD student I would be able to see what my student is doing in class and know if he is doing the correct assignment.
