Thing #16

Looking at all the books that are available in Library Thing is amazing. I was able to look at the new books of the authors that I like. while this is good for my personal reading I have to also remember that the books that I can use for my students. I will be able to work on a reading list for them and be able to see what is in our school library. With the Library Thing the students will be able to look up their favorite author, the title of the book if they know it and be able to see if they are in the school library.

Thing #14 Stretch

I went to Wikipedia and typed in ADHD to see what they had in the information on it. I looked at the history to see when the last posting was done and that was done over the weekend. There was no discussion posted.

The Wiki sites that I looked at were different in format. With each format they were right for that Wiki. I had to see Salute to Seuss , being a great Dr. Seuss fan I had to see what they did. With the information on the left side of the site you are able to click on the part you want and get the information you want.

On the Wiki Primary Math, on this site you will be able to find different things. You are able to see different class see how they set up there Wiki so you call download your own picture for the math pages that they have set up.

Schools in the Past as I was reading this site I found that the things in the past school were things that I had in my school when I was there. They broke the information down into different parts the school, example school yard, class size, etc. Reading the information that the brought together just listed. There was an additional posting done by another teacher, she made it for any grade to use.

That was neat. I was looking for something about ADHD, my son has this, I wanted to know if there was anything that I could do for him with school. I found several sites for this. There is even ads for things that can be used to help ADHD people. I know that my son will need help from myself, his dad, and the his teacher. With Delicious I was able to see what others have found and was easy for me to see what other thing.

Thing #7a

Going to Google Reader today I find that I wanted to add other interest to mine. I have gotten in to reading the news online and added top stories to it. I don't like to have to get a paper anymore and want to read the just the top stories around the world. I have found out just by reading these I have the information that I want and still be informed. Between Palin, Obama, the South Carolina town, it seems that Michael Jackson got the most press.

I used ToonDoo - http://www.toondoo.com to do the comic strip. I have used the pictures of my daughters wedding for the strip. It did feel like a long way down to the seats. while doing this I found that I could use this for my students to help them with their English assignments, even their math. Just think of the things we can do with this information to help all of student express their imagination.

Thing #11

Just think if we were able to do trading cards for all our students and let them trade them with their peers. I know that this is for the computer but just think about we would have to design one for us as well. What would we put on outs and what pictures. Trading Card Maker - is a great way to show a picture that we like and do other things. While making my trading card I did not put my picture on it I put my son's it not the best one, but one that I like a lot. I love his expression.
